Directions: today you will make 4 Climographs. The tools you learn today will help you to finish your African county project. A climograph is a graphical depiction of the monthly precipitation and temperature conditions for a selected place. Precipitation is shown by the bar graph. A line graph depicts temperature. To create a Climograph you will need to follow the instructions below

  1. Open a Microsoft Excel Worksheet.
  2. Label the first three Columns:  A: Time (ex. Months) B: Precipitation C: Temperature
    1.  Be sure to label your measurement system (Inches, Fahrenheit)
  3. Now you will need information, once found enter the data on the Spread sheet, it should look as such

  1. After you have collected your data, Select (Highlight) all of your Data, and only data.
  2. In the top Navigation bar click on “Insert” , then scroll over and click “Column” choose a 2D Chart
  3. You should now have a simple bar chart. In the top Navigation go to “Chart Tools” and Select “Format”
  4. In the top left a pull down Menu reads “Chart Area” click and Drag it to “Rainfall”
  5. Underneath the pull down menu click the Format Selection button.
  6. Click the “Plot Series On” button to Secondary Axis. Then close the box.
  7. Now go back to Chart tools and Click on Design. Make sure rainfall is still selected.
  8. In the far left click the “Change Chart type” Button  Click on Line and hit Ok
  9. Open a blank Microsoft Word Document, Paste Data, and Chart in the word document.
